She coaxes the Fire of stars to life in her hands, and she sets them on their places in the wide expanse of Space where she holds her domain. Atria, Sabik, Shaula, Antares... many names they had, all born from the will of the Guardian of Space. And yet she remains attuned to Water, and in the blue planet where Life was born, she had made her mortal home.

The rendering of the persona took waaay longer than the background (which by the way, took me only a day) because this is one of my few artworks that didn't rely on a pencil sketch for a base (never again x_x ). It's been ages since I last employed a futuristic theme in my artworks, but it would be very difficult to render the scope of the Dragon Trio using realistic techniques (just you wait till I get to Dialga's Time). Well, Giratina's up next, just in case you haven't seen my to-do list in my journal. The other two artworks in this series will probably take longer to come up because sembreak is almost over, but I will tend to them in my free time.

The star chart background was based on the Hawaiian Astronomical Society's wide area map of the Scorpius constellation. The blue planet was rendered via :icondinyctis: 's tutorial. The background nebulae were painted with the aid of some Fractured Sanity fractal brushes.

Artwork done solely in Photoshop CS2. Palkia is the creation of Satoshi Tajiri. No profit is made out of this artwork. The gijinka form, however, is my creation. If you would like to use them for other purposes, you have to tell me first. D:<

DON'T DISTRIBUTE THIS ARTWORK WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. I'm sorry; I have to put my sign and devART link on the image because I can't have others claiming that they made this artwork.

Update: Tweaked the orientation of the legs slightly (compare with this WIP). It's fun to test the human anatomy to its limits, but yeah, I need to be more merciful to my gijinkas. ^_^; Thanks to all those who helped me fix the prob.

This came out really well, though I admit that the legs also puzzled me a bit at first, till I noticed she's sitting on the planet. I think that this is by far one of your best works.

I literally sat on my bed's end posing in front of a large mirror to correct the thing. O_o Thankfully a couple of tweaks in the cloth and the knees did the trick. I already know how I'll pull of Giratina, but I'm still out of ideas how I'll show Time for Dialga. ^_^;

I'll reply to your main message later (ugh, gotta get my lazy ass moving). Sorry for the big lapse; I was feeling quite shi**y the past days and I wouldn't have composed a decent reply otherwise.

Yeah it did, she looks absolutely amazing! I'm at a loss about Dialga too, save for maybe a background with clocks and hourglasses. O_o;

no worries there, and I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. *hugs* I hope it'll pass soon.
