This is another take on the same theme from an earlier artwork. First came a sketch, and then musie goes, "Bring it on!" O_o; I've been working on this for about five months now, but I finally decided to give myself a deadline when reality bit me about my summer classes. *sighs* However, working on this artwork is a comfort to me, and you have no idea how much I relied on it to keep my feet on the ground when the going got really bad. Now that it's done, I can't help but feel kind of like something's missing. o_o

I intentionally tweaked their draconic forms to make them a bit more streamlined in the stylized depictions on the background. My muse gave up on Giratina's Altered Forme so it's his Origin Forme that I rendered in the final version. Gosh, I wonder when I will be able to draw his Altered Forme without balking. O_o;

As a personal challenge, I did not make use of any downloaded brushes in the making of the artwork, relying only on default Photoshop brushes or brushes that I have made myself (as was the case in the star chart). And speaking of that star chart, it is based on the Chinese celestial calendar of the sort used in Fushigi Yuugi (the one with the constellations of Suzaku, Seiryuu, Byakko, and Genbu). Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good image so I'm not sure if I rendered the constellations correctly. ^_^; And YES, those differently-colored spheres on the "wheel" are there for a reason. I'm not sure if it's so obvious, but can you guess what they are? ; p

Initial sketches done using a lead pencil on bond paper. Final lineart and coloring done solely in Photoshop CS2, with occasional backup from IrfanView. Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina are the property of Satoshi Tajiri, but the gijinka forms are my creations and cannot be used OR distributed without my permission. Minor update: I tweaked the window image a bit. I had to stare at the image for some time before I had to agree with the comment that it's quite too luminous. I didn't lessen the number of stars (it directly affects the texture of the dragons because I used Hard Light layer blending), but I did soften it and considerably darkened portions of the circle. Hopefully it's not as glaring as before. :S
